Earth Day Clean Up 2021 #KeweenawCleanUp

Updated: Apr 27, 2021

This Earth Day (April 22, 2021) the Keweenaw Logbook is challenging friends, family, peers, co-workers, podcast listeners, publication readers, and anyone who cares about where they live to clean up the Earth right where they are.

Clean Up Culture

Creating a culture of cleaning up and "leaving no trace" starts with admiration and appreciation of where you live. The people of the Keweenaw clearly have an appreciation of where they live and want to keep it clean for generations to come.

"Well, where should I go to pick up trash?"

Some clean up ideas could be as simple as going to your favorite local parks or trails in the Keweenaw. Some other recommended spots that get high traffic include:

  • Roadsides (be careful if by busy roadsides and make sure to wear something really bright so cars can see you)

  • Grocery store parking lots

  • Busy parks + trail systems

"What if I don't live in the Keweenaw Peninsula?" This challenge is for you, too. Taking a couple of hours to walk around your community and pick up some of that ugly road side trash can make a difference! It's a small act of appreciation but it'll go a long way.

See you outside,

- Keweenaw Logbook Crew
