Food, Family, and the Fare that Defines Us

Welcome to the interview series dedicated to all things food within our Keweenaw and grater Upper Peninsula community! The Dish is a joint blog series by Troemner Family Farm and Logbook Stories, where we interview farmers, cooks, food artisans, and producers from the Upper Peninsula about family and the fare that defines us.

Preparing, growing, and eating food on a community level is so personal. When we get the chance to experience another person’s palette, our lives become so much richer. Beyond every bite is a whole story and a person worth celebrating.

What inspires our local farmers, foodies, and chefs? How did this magical moment in food come to be? I want to highlight the real people, in their voice, sharing their experiences, passions, and dreams. I hope to ask questions and edit content in a way that shows who a person really is.

I reached out to Haley at the The Logbook to find a fun, local, and non-commercial platform to host the series. When she enthusiastically agreed and we sat down to chat, this project really came to fruition. Haley has done much of the photography for the project as well. We’re so excited to share this community heart work with you, and look forward to many more interviews! We thank all of our interviewees who took the time to sit down and dish.

Cheers,

Claire Troemner
